On Tuesday 3 August 2021, The Emmanuel Liturgical Dance Company travelled to Mercy College to perform in their beautiful Chapel for the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.
We couldn’t have asked for a better performance from our students. The piece was beautifully danced, with such thought provoking choreography by Miss Charleston, telling the story of The Good Samaritan. They received absolutely outstanding feedback from the adjudicator and could not have received any higher marks.
‘What a moving presentation. This was a fine example of what Liturgical dancers can offer. All dance elements were considered to an outstanding level. Your intricate movements, artistic dance sequences, that employed a variety of energies and interesting pathways through the space made this so compelling. Such exquisite dance. Your movements were controlled yet fluid and filled the space with absolute delight and awe. Your message of the Good Samaritan was heightened through your clever use of soloist, small group work and larger ensemble work. A most moving, exemplary example of gospel storytelling through the medium of dance. Thank you.’
The results will be announced at the end of Term 3. Congratulations to all who were involved creating the performance!
