Some of our Aboriginal students had the privilege to attend a dance workshop at Sacred Heart College on Wednesday 28 October 2020. The workshop was run by Djuki Mala, who are from the North East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. Djuki Mala (Djuki meaning ‘bird’ with a Yolngu accent and Mala meaning ‘mob’) performed a high energy, stunning fusion of traditional Indigenous culture, contemporary dance and storytelling. Students learnt the choreography to one of Djuki Mala’s popular dances to the backing track of Zorba the Greek, which was very energetic and so much fun!
