The inaugural English Creative Conference was a wonderful evening that served as a celebration of Book Week and the remarkable achievements of English students across the College. The event was a true testament to the dedication and passion that these students have poured into their work.
Upon entering the venue, attendees were greeted by a captivating array of displays, each thoughtfully curated to showcase the depth and diversity of the students’ literary explorations. From intricate poetry collections to thought-provoking short stories, the exhibits were a visual feast for lovers of language and literature.
A highlight of the event was seeing the Home Economics students wholeheartedly embrace the spirit of Book Week. Their culinary creations, in the form of book-themed cakes, were a delightful surprise that showcased the cross-curricular nature of the event.
The exhibition was followed by the Youth Activism Forum, where selected students from Years 7- 12 presented protest poems and speeches that delved into the concerns of young people today.
The success of the English Creative Conference underscored the importance of fostering a holistic approach to education, one that transcends traditional classroom boundaries and encourages students to merge their academic pursuits with creative expression.
As the evening drew to a close, the air was filled with a palpable sense of accomplishment and camaraderie. The English Creative Conference had not only provided a platform for students to showcase their literary talents but had also fostered a sense of community and shared passion among attendees.
