International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
Emmanuel Catholic College were proud to host over 500 students and staff from 12 diverse schools in the local community as we celebrated International Women’s Day 2024. The morning welcomed and celebrated various religions and backgrounds, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and inspiration for all.
Sponsored by and brought together by the Fremantle Dockers, guests were entertained and inspired by the incredible career of guest speaker Kate Reid. Kate’s journey from aerodynamicist in the Williams F1 team to renowned pastry chef and founder of Lune Croissanterie is truly extraordinary. Her unwavering commitment to excellence defines what it means to be an empowered businesswoman, transforming the traditional croissant into a world-class experience.
Also joining Kate were Fremantle Dockers players Josh Corbett (AFL) and Aine Tighe (AFLW) along with Angie Bain – Head of Wellbeing at Fremantle Dockers and Wellness dog Winnie. Our guests discussed the topics of burnout and resilience whilst also sharing general wellbeing tips.
The morning was also a welcome opportunity for the Emmanuel Catholic College student Media Team to get involved with media coverage of such a wonderful high-profile event.
