How to use a SmartRider

The Emmanuel Bus service uses Transportme^TM, a user-friendly app-based system where students will use their SmartRider to tag on and off. Emmanuel Bus SmartRider balances can be topped-up using the Transportme^TM App. Please note, the Transperth balance on the SmartRider card is separate to the Emmanuel Bus balance and can not be used across services.

Transportme^TM  provides the following benefits to families:

• Students and parents can track the buses in real time on the phone app.
• By saving a stop you will receive notifications of how far the bus is away from your stop.
• Tickets will no longer be purchased from the school.
• Students will use their SmartRider to tag on and off.
• ECC Bus SmartRider balances can be topped-up using the Transportme^TM App.
• You will receive notifications when the balance is low.

To download the App

Download the Transportme^TM Passenger app from the App Store or Google Play Store. 

*Don’t forget to make your bus stop a favourite within the App, this will enable you to get a push notification to your device if the bus is delayed.

The cost of the use of the Emmanuel Bus will be $2.50 per student, per run.

FAQs 

• My child does not have a SmartRider, what do I do?

All students that are new to the College in 2025 will receive their SmartRider through Student Services in the first few weeks of school. If your child is an existing student and has lost or misplaced their SmartRider, a new one can be arranged through our website ‘store’ for a fee of $6.00. 
Students who are waiting for a SmartRider can still access the bus by giving their name to the Bus Driver. Families will still be required to set up their account on the Transportme^TM App and load the card with a balance to ride the bus.

• My child doesn’t usually catch the bus, can they do so for a one-off?

Absolutely! All students will be sent a Username and Password. Download the Transportme^TM App and load it with the appropriate funds. Your child will then be able to use their SmartRider to tag on and off the bus.

• Can I use my child’s Transperth balance to pay for the Emmanuel Private School Bus?

No, although the same physical card is used, the Transperth balance on the student card is separate to the Emmanuel Bus balance. Emmanuel Bus SmartRider balances can be topped-up using the Transportme^TM App.

• My child’s card balance has run out and I haven’t had a chance to reload, but they need to catch the bus home, what do I do?

Your child will still be able to catch the bus using their SmartRider to tag on and off, you will still be charged – this will come off the balance when you reload.

• Are my bank details secure?
