On Monday of Week 8, parents, families and friends enjoyed an evening filled with excitement and eagerness as our college ensembles and music scholarship recipients took to the stage to perform at the Spring Concert! After a long hiatus from live performance, our musicians were still able to perform with professionalism and enthusiasm, putting smiles on all of our audiences’ faces. Needless to say, all those hours of practice and sacrificed lunchtimes for rehearsal certainly paid off!
The evening was a celebration of musical diversity with performances from artists like Toto, The Cranberries and Tame Impala to orchestral hits from Harry Potter, The Hobbit and The Lion King. Debut performances from our two new ensembles, the Chamber Strings Ensemble and Contemporary Band, were met with thunderous applause and what a welcome it was! We also saw an Emmanuel Catholic College first when a combined number was performed by the Junior Rock band in conjunction with the ECC Brass Ensemble. A truly vibrant collaboration, the likes of which we hope to see more of in the future.
All our performers and student helpers on the evening did exceptionally well and our congratulations goes out to them all! We look forward to more exhilarating musical performances to come, in 2020 and beyond!
