Deputy Principal of Teaching and Learning
Tell us a bit about your background, where did you come from?
I first started teaching at Irene McCormack Catholic College in Butler before taking some time off to travel and teach in London. Upon returning to Perth, I taught at Mercy College in Koondoola for eight years and my last four years were spent at Sacred Heart College in Sorrento as an Assistant Deputy Principal.
What are your aspirations at Emmanuel and what do you hope to achieve?
I hope to continue to grow and develop the Teaching and Learning space at Emmanuel. I am very fortunate to be starting at a school that is on a growth trajectory and with a solid pedagogical base. My aspiration would be to see Emmanuel become a leader in 21st century education and break through what is often seen as the status quo in schools. I hope to empower our staff to feel comfortable to try new ideas, create new programs that engage students and develop their passion for learning so they are prepared for whatever will make them happy and successful young people once they walk out of our College gates.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I speak Spanish fluently. This is very handy when travelling as you will find that between English and Spanish, you will often meet someone who can help you out in most situations!
